Small Churches

In our days there is talk about what is better, small churches or large churches. In Italy, only small churches exist because Italy has been deprived of a sound gospel presence for centuries.

This past Sunday, in the evening and after worshipping out of our home in the morning, we joined a church body that is run by TEAM missionaries for the past 17 years. We joined them to be their friends and let them know they are not alone, as we are now in the city to preach the gospel, evangelize and make disciples of Christ and see the Lord form another church body through us. At the church service, in their rented hall, there were 9 people besides us. 5 of the 9 were missionaries.

We were reminded of the difficult realities most evangelical churches face today in Italy, that is simply to press on and to have an impact on their society for Jesus Christ when they are so few.

**We invite you to now join with us daily in prayer for the lost people of Venezia Mestre to be saved. Simply praying is not enough, but that is why we are here physically to engage them personally with the Gospel of Jesus Christ by the power of His Spirit working within us and through us. Your prayers, however, can be used by God to render our labor and proclamation effective. Without your prayers we may very well find ourselves to be laboring in vain...

Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.
